	Advair Inhalation Powder helps in the effective management of asthma. It is a drug indicated in asthma. The other component of Advair Inhalation Powder is an inhaled long-acting bronchodilator salmeterol which helps in preventing the tightening of the muscles which surround the airways bronchoconstriction. Hence this asthma medication treats both the inflammation and the bronchoconstriction produced by the disease. This is the best medicine for asthma. Advair Inhalation Powder fails to relieve sudden symptoms. It helps in preventing or decreasing the symptoms of asthma and also of chronic lung disease. Advair Inhalation Powder helps by opening the airways in the lungs by decreasing bronchiolar swelling and producing muscle relaxation. The powder formulation of Advair Diskus is designed in plastic devices which contain a double-foil blister strip which is used for oral inhalation only. Each blister comprises of 1 complete dose of the medication. To attain total benefit of Advair inhalation powder it must be used on regular basis. Taking it at the same time daily shall help you remember taking it. In case you do miss a dose of Advair Inhalation Powder then you need to skip the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. Avoid taking two doses at a time. There may or may not be any taste of the drug when you inhale it. Avoid taking the inhaler apart. Avoid washing the mouthpiece or any part of the device.


	How to use
	After activating the device it is held in a horizontal position. One complete dose of the medication is dispersed into the airstream which is produced by the patient and is inhaled through the mouthpiece. The medicine is generally taken twice a day once in the morning and once in the evening 12 hours apart or as directed by your physician. Never exhale into the device. Avoid stopping the use of Adviar inhalation powder even if you are feeling better you should continue taking it till your physician advises you to do so.

	The common side effects observed are upper respiratory tract infection sore throat viral respiratory infection bronchitis headache cheat pain increased blood pressure tremors swelling of face cataracts etc.


	Drug Interaction
	MAO inhibitors e.g. furazolidone isocarboxazid linezolid moclobemide phenelzine procarbazine selegiline tranylcypromine should not be taken with this medication within 2 weeks before during and after treatment. Drugs like nefazodone telithromycin azole antifungals such as ketoconazole itraconazole macrolide antibiotics such as clarithromycin HIV protease inhibitors such as ritonavir saquinavir etc should not be taken along with this medication as they remove the fluticasone and salmeterol from your body and affect its working. Drugs like dofetilide pimozide procainamide amiodarone quinidine sotalol and erythromycin may affect the heart rhythm.


	Uses
	It is indicated in the treatment of asthma and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease COPD associated with chronic bronchitis.


	Storage
	It should be stored at room temperature between 68-77 degrees F 20-25 degrees C and away from light and moisture. The Advair Diskus Inhalation Powder should be thrown away 1 month after it is been removed from the foil pouch or after the dose indicator reads 0 whichever comes first.
