	Description
	Advair Rotacaps are used effectively in the treatment of asthma chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder and chronic bronchitis. Advair Rotacaps are a combination of two medicines which are used to help reduce the symptoms of asthma and improve the ability of lung function. The contents of Advair rotacaps are fluticasone propionate and salmeterol. Fluticasone propionate is an inhaled corticosteroid medicine and salmeterol is a long acting beta2 agonist medicine. The inhaled corticosteroid fluticasone propionate is a corticosteroid with potent anti-inflammatory actions. Hence it helps in reducing swelling and irritation inside the airways of the lungs inflammation. It also helps in the reduced production of mucus. Salmeterol an inhaled long-acting bronchodilator helps in preventing the tightening of the muscles which surround the airways bronchoconstriction and causes the muscle cells to relax and opens the airways. Advair rotacaps is a drug used in the treatment of asthma. It fails to treat the immediate symptoms of asthma. It is to be indicated for a long term treatment while a short term treatment with this drug fails to cure the condition of asthma and chronic lung diseases. Advair Rotacaps are individual doses used to treat symptoms of asthma while a diskus is a dispenser which contains multiple doses. Rotacaps are doses of powdered medications which is stored inside the capsule. The number of rotacaps available differs depending on the prescription. Advair Rotacaps represents an evolution in thinking about helpful asthma management. The Advair Rotacaps are to be used with the Rotahaler Device. The Rotahaler Device is sold separately. Avoid doubling up the dose in case of any missed dose. Do consult your physician incase you do miss a dose.


	How to use
	Rotacaps are used along with rotahalers. Rotacaps cannot be used without rotahalers. The patient has to load one rotacap into the rotahaler and twist the base by which the rotacap is opened. Then the powdered dose is inhaled through the mouthpiece of the rotahaler.


	Side Effects
	The probable side effects are rash hives swelling of the face mouth and tongue breathing complaints increased blood pressure fast and irregular heartbeat chest pain headache tremor nervousness eye disorders which include glaucoma and cataracts etc.


	Drug Interaction
	MAO inhibitors e.g. furazolidone isocarboxazid linezolid moclobemide phenelzine procarbazine selegiline tranylcypromine should not be taken with this medication within 2 weeks before during and after treatment. Drugs like nefazodone telithromycin azole antifungals such as ketoconazole itraconazole macrolide antibiotics such as clarithromycin HIV protease inhibitors such as ritonavir saquinavir etc should not be taken along with this medication as they remove the fluticasone and salmeterol from your body and affect its working. Drugs like dofetilide pimozide procainamide amiodarone quinidine sotalol and erythromycin may affect the heart rhythm.


	Uses
	It is indicated in the treatment of asthma and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease COPD associated with chronic bronchitis.


	Storage
	It should be stored at room temperature between 59-86 degrees F 15-30 degrees C and should be kept away from heat and moisture.


	Precaution
	Inform your doctor about your allergies. Inform your doctor about the medications you are taking. Inform your doctor if you suffer from - asthmatic attack/bronchospasm infection especially fungal infection osteoporosis/other bone disease etc. Take the advice of your physician to use this medication during pregnancy and breast feeding. Avoid using any other long-acting inhaled beta agonists along with this product as it may increase your risk for side effects.
