	Description
	Baytril [Enrofloxacin] is a third generation fluoroquinolone is in the broad-spectrum a bactericidal antibiotic used in pet care medication and pet care medical treatments. The activity of the entire composition of Enrofloxacin silver sulfadiazine benzyl alcohol cetyl stearyl alcohol and neutral oil or purified water emulsion is entirely dependent on the concentration. The method of action is to slow down the bacterial DNA-gyrase thereby preventing the DNA supercoiling and synthesis. Baytril [Enrofloxacin] also has some activity adjacent to some Gram-positive aerobes and a distinctive variety of Gram-negative bacilli and cocci which include klebsiella pseudomonas and salmonella along with mycoplasma staphylococci and chlamydia. Thanks to the fluoroquinolone Baytril [Enrofloxacin] have shown inconsistent activity against most Streptococci and rather weak activity against many anaerobic bacteria as well. Hence it is not generally recommended for treating these kinds of infections in pet care medication.


	How to use
	The use of fluoroquinolones like Baytril [Enrofloxacin] has not been suggested for initial treatment in pet care medication in pregnant and nursing does or rats less than 4 months as that may give rise to the risk of cartilage abnormalities. Nevertheless in cases where other antibiotics may not help or if the infection is serious the assistance of using fluoroquinolones may be the last resort outweighing the risk factors.


	Side Effects

Hence doctors as a part of pet care tips suggest separating the doses from any of the mentioned products at least by 2 hours.


	Uses
	If the vet chooses to use Baytril [Enrofloxacin] 10 he or she better keep it in mind that it has a concentration of 100 mg per 1 ml. And 10 concentration can be real caustic to the tissue hence such pet care products need to be diluted for all routes. The doses could be as follows 5 mg/kg to 10 mg/kg PO IM q12hr 1 26 27 28 anything from 5-30 days either in the injectable form or applied orally. Baytril [Enrofloxacin] can also be combined with doxycycline for treatment of mycoplasma. Overdose can cause acute toxicity.


	Storage
	Baytril Enrofloxacin should always be stored at room temperature away from any kind of moisture and heat contact. Also keep the medicine away from children and pets.


	Precaution
	The use of Baytril [Enrofloxacin] Otic in dogs with perforated tympanic membranes hasn’t been estimated. Consequently the reliability of the tympanic membrane needs to be evaluated before directing these kinds of pet care products. If vestibular or auditory dysfunction is noted all through the route of treatment it is better to discontinue use of Baytril Otic.
