	Description
	Evalon Cream is a medicated vaginal cream containing the female hormone Estriol. It is mainly used for reducing the symptoms that are common in menopausal women. Women in this particular age group have low levels of estrogen in their bodies as they stop producing this hormone naturally. As a result they suffer from hot flashes and vaginal dryness and irritation. Evalon Cream [Estriol] helps in reducing these symptoms. Evalon Cream [Estriol] is also known to prevent Urinary Tract Infections and inflammation.


	How to use
	Do not use Evalon Cream [Estriol] unless you have specific instructions from your doctor. Apply it topically daily. Do not use more than once daily. Each application should not be more than 0.5 mg. The applicator and the plunger that comes with Evalon Cream [Estriol] should be washed properly in warm water and soap. Use soap and not detergent. Do not forget to wash your hands before and after using the cream. While cleaning the applicator after use do not use boiling water.


	Side Effects
	Using Evalon Cream [Estriol] in high doses or in an inappropriate fashion may lead to side effects. Discontinue use and speak to your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following: coughing breathing trouble breathlessness fainting chest pain pain in leg numbness in one side of the body migraine visual disturbances sudden increase in blood pressure whole body itch or severe depression. If you are experiencing tenderness in breasts it most probably will go away. If it does not it may indicate that you the doses you are taking are too high for you.


	Drug Interaction
	Do not administer Evalon Cream [Estriol] if you are also taking medicines containing barbiturates griseofulvin rifampicin carbamazipine or hydantoins as these are known to be detrimental to the efficiency of Estriol. Evalon Cream [Estriol] is also not to be taken simultaneously with succinylcholine troleandomycin and theophylines. Before starting medication of theophylines have a talk with your doctor about any other medication you may be taking at that point of time.


	Uses
	Following are the uses of Evalon Cream [Estriol]: 1 It is mainly used for reduction of symptoms of menopausal women. It causes considerable reduction of vaginal dryness and irritation. 2 It is used for the prevention of Urinary Tract Infections in women. 3 It is used in the treatment of urine incontinence in its mild forms. 4 Menopausal women who have undergone vaginal surgery are administered Evalon Cream [Estriol] as therapy. 5 It is also known to be used to diagnose cervical smear.


	Storage
	Evalon Cream [Estriol] should at all times be stored in a cool and dry place. It should be kept out of reach of children and away from sunlight.


	Precaution
	Evalon Cream [Estriol] should be used for intravaginal application only. It should not be taken orally. If you become pregnant while undergoing treatment with Evalon Cream [Estriol] inform your doctor as soon as possible. If you are planning to undergo surgery let your doctor know that you are using Evalon Cream [Estriol]. If you have missed a dose of Evalon Cream [Estriol] do not double the dose yourself before asking your doctor. Before starting on medication of Evalon Cream [Estriol] inform your doctor about any vaginal bleeding you may be having or the existence of any tumor.
