	Description
	Flurbiprofen ophthalmic solution is available in a form of eye drops for pets. Flurbiprofen is a class of drugs known as Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs NSAIDs. Flurbiprofen is used for the treatment of the eye especially in case of an inflammation of an eye. It may also be used to lessen the complication of eye surgery and inhibit the constriction of the pupil of the eye.


	How to use
	Dosage instructions provided by the veterinarian should be followed strictly. If discharge is visible in the eyes clean the area with sterile eyewash solution prior to applying Flurbiprofen eye drop. Shake the solution well before using. Rest the pet’s head on one hand. Make sure the chin of the pet is up and the eyes are looking towards the ceiling. Put the dropper just on top of the eye. Make sure the dropper is an inch away from the surface of the eye. The tip of the dropper should not come in contact with body surface of the pet. The hands should always be washed properly before and after the medication is administered. If the tip of the dropper comes in contact with any surface may contaminate the medication. Squeeze the dropper into the corner of an eye. Hold the pet’s head for a moment to let the drop disperse over the whole eye surface. If more than 1 medication is to be applied to the eyes there should be an interval of 5 minutes between each application.


	Side Effects
	Certain side effects are indicated using Flurbiprofen eye drop such as: Eye pressure may increase. Allergic reactions like facial swelling hives sudden onset of diarrhea scratching vomiting shock seizures pale gum cold limbs and coma. Toxicity or overdose may cause increased redness of eyes and discharge squinting signs that pet may have trouble seeing or any other eye related signs.


	Drug Interaction
	Veterinarian should be consulted before using Flurbiprofen eye drop with any other medication including vitamins and supplements since interactions may occur.


	Uses
	Flurbiprofen is used for the inflammation of the eye of the pet. It is also used to stop the pupil of the eye from narrowing during eye surgery by inhibiting prostaglandins which cause narrowing of the pupil.


	Storage
	Flurbiprofen eye drop should be stored at a temperature between 15o-25oC 59o-77oF. Keep away from children.


	Precaution
	Flurbiprofen eye drop should not be used in pets with infected with corneal ulcers. Pets allergic to Flurbiprofen should not use. Pets with hemophilia or other clotting disorders should be cautious. Flurbiprofen eye drop should not be used if the eye is infected with viral infections.
