	Description
	Lami-Stav-Nevi [Generic] is a medication used by doctors to manage HIV infection in adult patients and for patients who have been administered Triomune for initiating therapy. The medication is a combination of three drugs namely Lamivudine Stavudine and Nevirapine. Lami-Stav-Nevi [Generic] is a prescription drug and is only administered on patients who have shown tolerance towards Nevirapine.


	How to use
	Lami-Stav-Nevi [Generic] is meant to be used in a way prescribed by the doctor who is treating the patient. Double dose is not recommended in case of missed dose. The missed dose can be administered only if the time for the next dose is not near. In case of Lamivudine overdose the standard and supportive treatment should be followed and the patient be kept under strict vigilance. In case of Stavudine overdose haemodylasis should be done. But research has shown that patients who have been administered up to 24 times of the prescribed dosage of Stavudine have not shown any acute toxicity. In case of Nevirapine overdose medical science has no antidote that is known. In each of these cases emergency medical help should be called for as early as possible.


	Side Effects
	Lami-Stav-Nevi [Generic] may lead to side effects in some patients. Serious side effects which may even turn fatal if not treated early are pancreatitis hepatitis lactic acidosis hepatic staeatosis and liver failure. Other less serious side effects are diarrhea nausea malaise vomiting peripheral neuropathy pruritus skin rashes thrombocytopenia transient neutropenia fatigue abdominal discomfort headache myalgias and anthralgias. If any of these symptoms are seen in the HIV infected patient who is on therapy using Lami-Stav-Nevi [Generic] the doctor should be consulted immediately.


	Drug Interaction
	Large scale and long-term studies are required in order to understand the drug interactions of a particular medication. In the case of Lami-Stav-Nevi [Generic] studies have shown that it may react with a few medications if administered simultaneously. Some of the medications that are to be absolutely avoided during therapy by HIV infected patients are Antiarrhythmics like amiodarone lidocaine and dysopyramide Cancer chemotherapy medication like cyclophopamide cyclophopamide like fentanyl Anticonvulsants like ethosuximide carbamazepine and clonazepam Ergot alkaloids like ergotamine Antifungals like itraconazole Immunosuppressants like sirolimus cyclosporine tacrolimus Antithrombotics like warfarin Calcium channel blockers like verapamil diltiazem and nifedipine and Motility agents like cisapride.


	Uses
	Lami-Stav-Nevi [Generic] is used for treatment of HIV infection in patients and for therapy of patients who have been initiated using Triomune.


	Storage
	Lami-Stav-Nevi [Generic] should be kept in a cool and dry area. Keep out of reach of children and pets.


	Precaution
	Patients of HIV are prone to infections as their immunity system is weak. It has been reported that the component of Lami-Stav-Nevi [Generic] may cause infections in some patients. Proper dosage and strict vigilance should be maintained by the caregivers of the patients. Liver tests and blood tests should be done regularly during therapy. Motor weakness and peripheral sensory neuropathy has also occurred in a few patients.
