Mircette [Estradiol+ Desogestrel] may cause certain adverse side effects in some women. Common symptoms such as mild nausea, bloating, breast pain, breast swelling, breast tenderness, freckles, increased hair growth, weight gain or weight loss, vaginal discharge or itching, change in menstrual periods, headache, dizziness, vomiting, stomach cramps, darkening of the facial skin, loss of hair, decrease in sexual urge, nervousness and tired feeling have been reported. In case the patient gets any of these symptoms, the doctor should be consulted.
Serious but rare side effects are sudden numbness, weakness, headache, vision problems, trouble balancing, chest pain, nausea, general ill-feeling, depression, stomach pain, loss of appetite, dark stools, breast lump, confusion, problems in speech, low fever and dark urine. In case the patient gets any of these symptoms emergency medical help should be called for.
