Neurontin [Gabapentin] may cause side effects in patients who are being administered this medication. Following are the side effects that may occur in children:
o memory problems
o restlessness, aggressiveness and hostility
o behavioral changes
o trouble in concentrating
Following are side effects that may occur in adult patients which are not very serious and usually go away with time. In case they worsen, the doctor should be consulted immediately:
o dizziness, weakness, drowsiness, tired feeling
o blurred vision
o constipation, diarrhea
o sore throat, runny and stuffy nose
o unusual dreams, insomnia
o lack of coordination
o nausea, stomach pain, vomiting, appetite loss
o dry mouth
o headache
o mild skin rash and acne
Following are side effects which are serious and in case they occur, emergency medical help should be called for as soon as possible:
o increased seizures
o swelling in the feet or ankles
o easy bruising
o fever, body aches, chills, flu symptoms
o confusion
o tremors
