It is also used to treat heart related problems especially after a heart attack. Most of the times Prinivil is dosed along with some other drugs when it comes to heart problems. Prinivil chemically is an ACE inhibitor which relaxes the blood vessels thus lowering high blood pressures. Generally Prinivil is an oral consumption pill which has to be dosed as prescribed by the doctor. Don’t use this drug on your own or don’t alter the drug schedules as you liked. Constant blood pressure checkups have to be followed up regularly. Don’t use Prinivil without consulting doctor when you are pregnant or planning to be a pregnant. This drug may cause serious harm to unborn baby if medication continues during pregnancy. Alcohol consumption must be avoided to ensure no further dropdown of blood pressure when taking Prinivil. |
|  | How to use | | Prinivil comes in the form of tablets varying its power from 5mg 10mg 20mg and 40 mg. Dose the drug as prescribed by the doctor. Altering schedules strictly is not recommended. It can be consumed either by water or by food. For best results it’s suggested that you take these tablets with water. If you miss a dose complete it as soon as possible. If you come nearer to the next dose continue with next dose. Don’t consume two doses at the same time. Irrespective of normal blood pressures now and then these drugs have to be continued for a prescribed time as directed by physician. |
|  | Side Effects | | Side effects are not so common in using Prinivil. It is being reported that in some cases serious stomach pains irregular urination chest pain feverish symptoms and head ache might be caused. In case of observing any abnormality while on medication it is recommended that you meet your doctor as quick as possible. |
|  | Drug Interaction | There are many drugs that interact with Prinivil. So let your doctor know if you are previously on any medication. This drug may interact with insulin or oral drugs that are related to diabetes. Potassium content pills aspirin and other NSAIDs might interact with this drug.
In general lisinopril should not be taken with potassium supplements or diuretics that conserve potassium e.g. Dyazide since blood potassium levels may rise to dangerous levels. |
