Provera contains active ingredient known as medroxyprogesterone acetate and other inactive ingredients. Medroxyprogesterone acetate is a synthetic form of naturally occurring female sex hormone, progesterone. How to use

For patients with abnormal uterine bleeding due to hormonal imbalance in the absence of organic pathology, the recommended dose is 10mg of Provera [medroxyprogesterone acetate] daily for 10 days beginning on the 16th day of the menstrual cycle. Storage

Precaution
Provera [medroxyprogesterone acetate] tablets should not be used during pregnancy as it does not provide any contraception against pregnancy.

Porphyrias patients should avoid this therapy.
