	Description
	Rotahaler [Fluticasone propionate + Salmeterol] is a potent synthetic anti-inflammatory medication used in the treatment of Bronchospasm and chronic obstructive lung disease. 	How to use

This action will split the capsule into two. The patient has to breath out gently and the Rotahaler’ mouthpiece should be held between the teeth and lips. Now the powder has to be breathed in deeply. If any powder is found to be left, the inhalation process has to be repeated. The Rotahaler should now be opened and the capsule discarded.


	Side Effects
	As with all medications, Rotahaler [Fluticasone propionate + Salmeterol] may cause adverse side effects in some patients. Hoarseness of the throat and candiasis of the throat and mouth has been reported. The hoarseness will go away in most cases if the patient gargles with water just after administration of the medication. Candiasis can be treated with the use of a topical anti-fungal ointment. Administration of Rotahaler [Fluticasone propionate + Salmeterol] should not be stopped in any of the cases. In case of an overdose, common side effects a patient may get are headache, tremor and tachycardia. A continuous administration of a higher dosage of the medication may even result in adrenal suppression. Side effects other than these may also occur in some patients.


	Drug Interaction
	Rotahaler [Fluticasone propionate + Salmeterol] may cause adverse drug interactions when administered in combination with other medications. Caution should be maintained by doctors in prescribing it with inhibitors of CYP 3A4 and other substrates. Rotahaler [Fluticasone propionate + Salmeterol] is not recommended for use in combination with selective and non-selective beta blockers unless there is a compelling reason to do so.
