	Description
	Symbyax is not for use in psychotic conditions related to dementia. Symbyax may cause heart failure, sudden death, or pneumonia in older adults with dementia-related conditions. Call your doctor immediately, if you experience : difficult speech feeling faint slow speech sudden dizziness more depressed suicidal thoughts weakness or numbness of an arm or leg Patients starting on a therapy with this medicine should be monitored appropriately and observed closely for new and/or worsening depression symptoms such as suicidal thoughts/behavior, or unusual behavioural changes. Consult your health care professional who prescribes this medication for you, a family member, or someone you care for has dementia and is taking olanzapine, before you start on a course with this medication.


	How to use
	Take exactly as prescribed by your health care professional. Contact your paediatrician regarding the use of this medicine in children.


	Side Effects
	If you notice any of the symptoms listed below or any other symptoms which seem severe/persistent contact your doctor immediately. allergic reactions such as skin rash/itching or hives/swelling of the face/lips/tongue/legs breathing problems change in sex drive/performance confusion constipation diarrhea difficulty in speaking/swallowing drowsy excessive thirst and/or hunger fast heartbeat fever/chills flu-like symptoms flushing frequent need to urinate lowered blood pressure mood changes muscle spasms/weakness painful/prolonged erections seizures sore throat suicidal thoughts talking fast and excited feelings/actions that are out of control tremors unusual bleeding/bruising unusually tired/weak vomiting weight gain blurred vision


	Drug Interaction
	Inform your doctor if you are allergic to the formulation of this medication or any other medication in any other form. antibiotics like grepafloxacin and sparfloxacin carbamazepine clozapine dextromethorphan diethylpropion digoxin droperidol flecainide halofantrine haloperidol levomethadyl lithium MAOIs medication for mental depression medication for Parkinson's disease medicines for anxiety or sleeping problems medicines for high blood pressure medicines for migraine headaches medicines that treat or prevent blood clots NSAIDs phenothiazines phentermine phenytoin pimozide procarbazine St. John's Wort tryptophan vinblastine Inform your doctor about any other medication you may be taking in any other form.


	Over Dose
	In case of overdose, call your local poison control center at 1-800-222-1222 if the victim has collapsed or is not breathing, call local emergency services at 911.


	Notes
	Symbyax medicine can also affect your blood sugar levels. Consult your health care professional for more information on the same. If you conceive whilst on a course with this medication inform your doctor immediately. If you need to undergo any kind of surgery, inform your doctor you are taking this medicine. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, breast feeding or planning to conceive. Avoid alcohol and alcohol containing beverages whilst on a course with this medication.


	Missed Dose
	Do not double doses to make up for a missed dose. Consult your health care professional about your missed dose.


	Uses
	Symbyax is used to treat manic depression caused by bipolar disorder.


	Storage
	Store at room temperature between 59-86 degrees F (15-30 degrees C) away from heat and moisture.


	Precaution
	Inform your doctor if you have or have ever had : Alzheimer's disease or dementia diabetes mellitus high blood sugar/a family history of diabetes heart disease arrhythmia previous heart attack high blood pressure treated with medication kidney/liver disease low blood pressure Parkinson's disease receiving electroconvulsive therapy transient ischemic attacks (TIAs) suicidal thoughts
