Vigamox consists of an active ingredient known as Moxifloxacin Hydrochloride and other inactive ingredients. It belongs to a class of antibiotics known as fluoroquinolones; also known as quinolones. Vigamox [Moxifloxacin HCl] is used for the treatment of bacterial conjunctivitis. It comes in the form of an eye drop of 3ml in a 6ml bottle. It works by interfering with two bacterial enzymes known as topoisomerase IV and DNA gyrase. These enzymes enable the bacteria to copy and repair DNA; which is required by the bacteria in order to multiply.
How to use
There is one standard recommended dosage of Vigamox [Moxifloxacin HCl] for bacterial conjunctivitis regardless of patient’s age, weight and medical condition is 1 drop of medication, thrice a day for 7 days; in the infected eye(s) for adults and children from age one. The dosage should not be altered unless directed by the physician.

Keep the dropper clean.
Do not touch the tip of the dropper to any surface including the surface of the eye in order to avoid contamination.
Do not wear contact lens while using the medication.
Side Effects
The most common side effects indicated using this Vigamox [Moxifloxacin HCl] eye drop are pink eye, blurred vision, dry eyes, inflammation of the cornea of the eye (keratitis), eye pain, itchy eyes, watery eyes, blood spot in the eyes, coughing, ear infection, fever, sore throat, rash and runny nose.

Storage
Vigamox [Moxifloxacin HCl] eye drop should be stored at a temperature between 2o-25oC (36o-77oF). Protect from direct sunlight, heat and moisture.
Precaution
