Patients who have a renal dysfunction or hepatic impairment should be started at a starting dose of 2.5 mg. During dose-titration, caution should be exercised. Patients undergoing dialysis do not have to undergo drug replacement.
Elderly patient do not necessitate a dosage adjustment unless they have a severe renal dysfunction condition.
Side Effects
Zebeta [BISOPROLOL ORAL] does not cause side effects in most cases as it is reportedly well-tolerated in most patients. But in rare cases, the patient may get side effects such as abdominal cramps, dizziness, depression, nausea, slow heart rate, numbness, cold extremities, shortness of breath, diarrhea, fatigue, headache, impotence, low blood pressure, tingling, sore throat, or wheezing.

Zebeta [BISOPROLOL ORAL] is not to be prescribed on patients who have overt cardiac failure, marked sinus bradycardia and second or third degree AV block.
Stopping this medication abruptly without consulting the doctor is forbidden. If the doctor decides that medication should be stopped, he will generally ask for a gradual decrease of dose till it is finally stopped. This prevents the risk of side effects that may occur.
When medication is being gradually decreased, the patients should be advised to decrease physical activity in order to decrease the strain on the heart.
