Ziac [Bisoprolol fumarate +Hydrochlorothiazide] may cause drowsiness, lightheadedness, dizziness and tiredness in the first phase of treatment as the body adjusts to it. Some people may even get nausea, diarrhea, trouble in sleeping, stomach upset, constipation or cough. If these side effects persist, the doctor should be consulted promptly.
This drug may also cause serious but unlikely side effects such as very dry mouth, muscle cramping or weakness, severe dizziness, fainting, extreme thirst, fast heartbeat or seizures. If any of these occur, the doctor should be informed without delay.
Very serious but rare side effects of this medication are irregular heartbeat, sudden weight gain, hair loss, mental or mood changes, muscle or joint pain, yellowing of the skin or eyes, dark urine, shaking, easy bruising or bleeding, swelling of the feet and ankle, loss of feeling in the fingers and toes, nervousness or signs of infection.
