Zonegran [ZONISAMIDE ORAL] is a prescription medication used in the treatment of partial seizures in adult patients. This medication is meant to be co-administered with other drugs to control seizures. Doctors may prescribe this medication for other reasons also.

The medication is meant to be swallowed whole and not chewed or broken. Medication can be had on an empty stomach or after a meal. Six to eight glasses of water should be drank everyday while treatment is going on. This will prevent the formation of kidney stones.
Stopping medication abruptly may cause serious side effects. If the doctor thinks medication should be stopped, it should be done on a gradual basis.

Zonegran [ZONISAMIDE ORAL] may cause side effects in patients who re using it. The common side effects of this medication are drowsiness, dizziness, nausea, irritability, loss of appetite, headache or agitation. Zonegran [ZONISAMIDE ORAL] is not recommended for patients who are allergic to sulfa drug such as Bactrim or Septraฎ.

kidney problems
anemia
